Description
You are bidding on a rare test pressing of the song "Across the Universe", by The Beatles. This is the earlier production of the song, recorded in 1968 and running faster and with different production elements than the mix heard on the "Let it Be" album.
This version was given to the World Wildlife Fund for use on a fundraising album, and this copy is a test pressing of the song. It runs at 33 1/3.
The label has a lot of copy at the top, visible in the scan, above, has the label number 5Q3-Mono, and a date of 1969. There appears to be a number stamped near the bottom, but the stamp was running out of ink and it is unclear what the number was.
The flip side of the record has a plain white label and is pressed with several different engineer test tones.
The record is clean and shiny, with virtually no marks of any kind, and it plays very well. Here is a representative sample of the song, heard without edit or sonic improvements as it plays on my turntable:
