Description

Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Beatles, Rolling Stones and some progressive records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!

On offer, an extremely rare 1st Dutch EXPORT pressing of The Beatles – Something New album, on the SILVER – BLACK Parlophone label, cat. no. CPCS 101. This 1st Dutch pressing of this Beatles  dates from 1965 and was pressed simultaneously with the U.K. export edition.

The record is in VG(+) condition; there are some non-sounding hairlines and a visible, but non-sounding mark on band 5 of side 1 (Slow Down). I have played this record completely and it sounded really great. I would grade the play as VG+++. The labels are in VG+ condition, there are a couple spindle marks only.

The cover (printed in the U.K. by Garrod & Lofthouse) is in Good (G) condition, the main damage is a rather big tear on the front, witch has been tape repaired from the inside. Unfortunately there is a piece of printing missing, you can see this in the photo’s. There is also lots of wear on the opening edges on both sides of the cover. These are the only major defects, but it prevents me from grading the cover as a VG.

Although this is a 1st Dutch pressing of the BEATLES  SOMETHING NEW album, this one is equally rare (or maybe ever rarer) than the 1st U.K. pressing on the Yellow Black label. Pressed from the same matrices as the U.K. original, the sound is equally good. And although this copy is not in a dream Mint condition, it is still interesting for any Beatles record collector to have a Parlophone pressing of a record you’d normally would see on the Capitol label.

Happy Bidding!
