This auction is for the 1st Edition, Japanese Pressing of The Beatles' "Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band".

The vinyl and the gatefold jacket grade at a conservative Very Good. They are both borderline Excellent.

This lot is an absolute must for any serious Beatles collector. You will be hard pressed to find a better sound recording of what is arguably the Beatles' greatest album. 

This is a highly sought after, historic pressing. The ground breaking technology used by Toshiba Musical Industries was regarded as revolutionary in its day; the so called "Ever Clean" LPs received an anti static treatment that ensured superficial noise deterioration was kept to a minimum. 

The remarkable clarity of sound all these years later are testimony to just how effective this was.

 The record label is Odeon and the Cat No. is OP8163.

Side A: YEX-637, Side B: YEX-638.

The record really is in pristeen condition considering it is now over 40 years old. In the 20+ years I have been lucky enough to own the record, I have played it only twice - most recently last week.

The sound quality is fantastic and there are no noticeable jogs, clicks or scratches on either side. Similarly the jacket has been beautifully preserved and there are no visible tears or rips. 

The record has been kept under heavy duty plastic casing and will be despatched with stiffeners in this protective casing.

Originally retailing at 2,000 yen, the price is printed in the lower right hand corner of the back cover and was a considerable price at the time. This too reflected the extraordinary technology  that went in to this release.

I am happy to post worldwide, but will relist the item I have not received full payment within a week of the auction ending.

I will charge whatever the going rate is at the Post Office, but am only prepared to send recorded delivery. I assume the buyer would insist on in this in any case!
