HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK PARLOPHONE (PCSP 719) FIRST PRESSING (10th June 1976) OF THE BEATLES' "Rock 'n' Roll Music" 2 LP COMPILATION

BOTH RECORDS ARE IN ONE PLAY/UNPLAYED, MINT CONDITION
THE FULLY LAMINATED GARROD & LOFTHOUSE GATEFOLD SLEEVE IS NEAR MINT

Once The Beatles contract with E.M.I. expired on February 6th 1976, E.M.I. had the rights to release any of The Beatles previously released recordings. This double set was the first album release where E.M.I. exerted that total control.
The package of this release has the catalogue number PCSP 719, but the two albums are individually numbered as PCS 7191 and PCS 7192, which once again, fits in with the Parlophone numbering of the time.

Controversy surrounded the album's artwork, which featured a cartoon like colour portrait of The Beatles against a shiny silver background with the album's title spelled out in what is presumed to be neon lights. Despite the fact that The Beatles were a band from the 1960s, icons from the 1950s plastered the inside of the album's gatefold sleeve, including a jukebox, an outdoor movie screen with a picture of Marilyn Monroe, a 1957 Chevrolet, a cheeseburger, and a glass of Coca-Cola. 1950's nostalgia was at a peak around this time (1976), and EMI was clearly attempting to cash in on the trend. The album cover prompted Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to complain to Rolling Stone Magazine that, "It made us look cheap and we never were cheap. All that Coca-Cola and cars with big fins was the Fifties!" Reportedly, John Lennon even offered a design for the record jacket, but EMI declined his offer

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT. The Side 4 label has ONE light spindle trace - all the others are PRISTINE. This set has possibly been played just the one time. 2 BEAUTIFUL AS-NEW RECORDS
VINYL Visual: All surfaces are CLEAN, UNMARKED and FACTORY-FRESH
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING audio - CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY SHARP, FRESH and IMMEDIATE SOUND. PRISTINE AUDIO THROUGHOUT - NO sticks, NO jumps, NO scratches, NO clicks/pops and NO surface noise. Both LPs play AS-NEW and are graded as MINT - ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS PLAYBACK. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
SLEEVE: The FULLY LAMINATED gatefold cover is in beautiful NEAR MINT condition. A slight touch of record impression is the only thing reducing the grading from a full MINT. Beautiful sleeve
