Cat No : PMC 7009 Label : Parlophone Issue : UK 1st Mono Press Matrix : XEX 605-2//XEX 606-2
This is the UK 1st press of 'Revolver' by The Beatles. This original press has the early 2/2 matrix and the rare 'Doctor Robert' text on the label. It has 'The Gramophone Company' and 'Sold In UK' printed around the label rim. It is complete with the original white inner and the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' Mono laminated flipback sleeve.
The vinyl is in Very Good+ condition. It has an extremely high gloss with just a few very light marks on each side. On playing the voices are vibrant, the backing is bold and rich and each track is extremely clear. There are a few moments of noise but there is no significant deterioration to the sound at any point. The Yellow and Black Parlophone label is completely clean, the black is bold, the silver text is sharp and the yellow is bright. There is only the slightest spindle wear and a couple of very soft spider marks.
The original and earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The white is bright, the black is solid and the laminate has a stunning shine. There is a little discolouration by the spine, a couple of small laminate creases and slight opening edge wear. The edges are firm, the flipbacks are completely sealed and intact and the unlaminated back cover looks superb. The whole cover is very solid and the spine is very firm with clear text on a bright background.
