Description
VERY RARE Stereo first press of this classic Beatles LP.
Revolver, Parlophone, PCS 7009, stereo. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated flipback cover with small “stereo” on the front and with “Dr. Robert” song credit on the back side.
Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Sepia “Patents applied for” inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEX 605-1; Side 2: YEX 606-1.Sans serif Arial typeset. Label misprint the side 2 track Doctor Robert as “Dr. Robert”. Each song title starting on a new line with the first line purely for “Taxman” and have “Eleanor Rigby” starting on the second line down. Also something to note on these original labels is that each song title was followed by song credits and then lead vocalist.
Vinyl: EX. Some marks but generally very clean. I played it all the way through and sounds really good. Wee bit of noise here and there but nothing too noisy. This isn't a mint copy and has been played but is an excellent example of a first stereo copy of this album.
Sleeve: EX. Absolutely lovely condition, one of the best Revolvers I've ever seen. Very clean, no pen marks or anything like that at all anywhere. Spine is perfect, corners sharp, laminate fully in tact. Many people would grade this even higher but I like to always err on the side of caution with gradings.
Labels: spindle marks showing it's been played, but no marks otherwise.
This is a really nice copy of a top album and I'd be keeping it if it weren't for the fact that my record collection is slowly going so that we can save up the deposit for a house! Sad days.
As this is a pretty valuable item I am insisting on tracked postage. For international buyers this is a fiver more than regular post, but you can rest assured it's insured and can be tracked. This covers both you and me in the event of anything going wrong (touch wood it won't!). LPs are sent in RHODES MAILERS. These are doube-thickness strong card oversized mailers. They protect the corners of your records and are the safest way to send LPs in the mail period. Records are shipped outside their sleeves when applicable to avoid seam splits. I do NOT use the flimsy envelopes that 90% of UK sellers use. These are a cheap corner-cutting measure that increases the chances of your records being damaged in the mail considerably!
