On offer here is a rare UK MONO 1st pressing of the album REVOLUTION by THE BEATLES
The Cat. No is PMC7009 on the YELLOW AND BLACK PARLOPHONE label. This pressing has the withrawn remix 11 version of ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ and dates from 1966. The matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1, XEX 605-2. Side 2, XEX 606-1. The mothers and stampers are as follows: Side 1, 1GM. Side 2, 2GR
THE LABELS are in VG+ condition (see pictures) with NO WRITING and only a few light spindle marks and wear around the centre hole.
THE VINYL cosmetically is in VG- condition. There are noticeable surface marks and scuffs some of which are feelable. There is a radial mark which causes a hiss for two revolutions and 1 jump very early on during Track 1 Side 1. I have played it through and apart from the fault mentioned it played very well and sounded pretty good. There is light background noise as well as the occasional click but this is evident mainly in the run on grooves, gaps and more quiet moments (I noticed some during Track 5 side 1). Apart from the fault on the opening of the first track the playback grades as VG but because of this fault I must grade it as G+.
THE INNER SLEEVE is a plain white poly lined type which is in VG+ condition with NO WRITING, SPLITS or TEARS just some minor creasing.
THE COVER is the ORIGINAL front laminated flipback ‘G&L‘ cover and is in FAIR condition. Although there is NO WRITING there is some staining and creasing as well as a 2inch piece of the bottom right hand corner flipback being missing. The spine text is still legible.
A SOUGHT AFTER ALBUM. THIS COPY WOULD MAKE A VERY ACCEPTABLE COLLECTION FILLER UNTIL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG.
