Description
Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90% of the LP's I've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, I've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, I'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!
I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered",weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).
I try to be one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and I'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!
I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

Now THIS is a rarity!!! Withdrawn immediately after only an absolutely miniscule shipment of these managed to get out - The reason being that the "Remix 11" was used of Tomorrow Never Knows rather than the intended "Remix 9" - and truth be told, in my opinion the Remix 11 on here SMASHES the intended version we know and love!!! The pioneering sampling and loop sounds are MUCH louder and intense in the mix, resulting in HEAVY psychedelia - it's almost frightening!!! A joy for serious music lovers to hear and immerse yourselves in, and that's probably why it was withdrawn - the Parlophone bigwigs must have decided that the Beatles' huge casual audience wasn't quite ready for such an intense and challenging piece of music; of course they got it, but in a slightly toned down form!
It's well known that Lennon struggled a little with this legendary pioneering piece of music, it's subject being based on the heavy side of acid trips - it's original title was "The Void”, but he changed it to the throwaway "Tomorrow Never Knows" in an attempt to lighten it up a little and not make it quite so serious!!! He also wanted to record the vocal whilst spinning around suspended from a rope tied to the studio ceiling, though he was persuaded to settle for a rotary speaker in the end!!! Just awesome...
Musicians : John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and George Martin (Producer)
About : Ultra Rare Original 1966 DECCA CONTRACT 606-1 UK 1st Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold barely anything (LP's were also really expensive to most people back then!!!) and therefore had a very small run, and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP!!! If you like good music, bid now!!!
The LP :
Labels :
Classic withdrawn 1966 UK 1st Press yellow & black DECCA CONTRACT “KT” Ridged Parlophone labels!!! Both sides are not too bad at all with NO writing, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has some usual spindle marking from general use over the years!!! GOOD for a 59 year old record!!! Both must grade overall at least as Fair+!!!
Record : Visual -
Spectacular Original UK 1966 WITHDRAWN DECCA CONTRACT Yellow & Black Parlophone Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks great with NO excessively nasty marks, NO deep scratches that ruin playback, and NO vicious scuffs either!!! It just has a few of the usual light, wispy sleeve traces, some light scratches and a few cosmetic scuffs, and a few mild non-sounding hairlines (only visible in angled light) mostly from where they have sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these blemishes interfere with execution of play, and they CERTAINLY don't effect the smoothness of it's playing!!! Used, but still brilliantly presentable and playable for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall visually at least as Fair+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)
Record : Audio -
Thankfully, it plays GREAT with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It plays through smoothly with NO hops, sticks, or skips!!! Only has some general surface noise, a few ticks here and there on occasions and some usual frequency crackle on Here There & Everywhere and Yellow Submarine (nothing excessively drastic at all, the all important Tomorrow Never Knows track sounds great), a bit of "bluesman's fag" static crackle in places such as between tracks and on the quieter sections, but it really doesn't overshadow the excellent music AT ALL!!! (it's mostly more atmospheric rather than the sound of bacon frying!!!) I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! Still a very enjoyable listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear!!! GREAT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably at least as Good+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)
Sleeve :
Original UK 1966 front laminated flipback G&L “patents pending" sleeve complete with original earliest ever “patents applied for” white inner!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks GREAT, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO writing, NO graffiti, NO really bad marks AT ALL, and still strong and solid after all these years!!! This sleeve only has a few usual signs of ageing such as general age creasing and a touch of a record imprint, a tear to the centre of the front opening from storage (no seam splits to the centre stress points) and some general ageing to the still darkly vibrant unlaminated back such as a little dusting to the flipback tips and some general mild ink rubbing here and there (nothing drastic - NO coffee cup rings, writing, graffiti or anything like that at all!!!), some denting/rounding to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and a few other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by listing every negative I can find, but this used example remains a GREAT sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as bright, solid and presentable as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains strong, solid, unsplit and unspoilt, and even the spine remains strong, solid, unsplit and 100% readable!!! Must grade overall at least as Fair+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)
Summary : A used, but GREAT playing UNBELIEVABLY RARE DECCA CONTRACT RIDGED LABEL withdrawn 606-1 TNK example of this ULTRA RARE UK Mono classic 1966 LP!!! Hard to find in ANY condition, but SERIOUSLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS PRESENTABLE AND PLAYABLE AS THIS!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!
Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, it's truly appreciated!! Cheers!!!
I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
