THE BEATLES: Revolver Vinyl LP 1966 STEREO PCS 7009. YEX 605-1 & 606-1. 1 Original White ‘Patents Applied For’/Made In Great Britain Inner. Audio is Excellent/perhaps near mint, whilst the G&L flip-back sleeve is VG+.

PLAY TESTED. EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT.

ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS OR JUMPS OR STICKING.

AUDIO IS EXCELLENT, PERHAPS NEAR MINT, WITH VERY LITTLE STATC/CRACKLE/SURFACE NOISE. BEAUTIFULLY QUIET BETWEEN TRACKS. IT REALLY IS SUPERB.

First stereo press, of what many critics consider to be The Beatles finest album, with small ‘stereo’ to top right front. The vinyl has a black label with yellow Parlophone logo and silver print. ‘Gramo Co Ltd’ perimeter print, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ text. This pressing is housed in the original plain white inner, in VG+condition. KT tax code embossed to side 2, with YEX 605-1 & YEX 606-1 matrix numbers, indicative of the first press. It has the correct ‘Doctor Robert’ text to side 2, though ‘Dr Robert’ to the sleeve, with sans serif Arial typeset, with each song title starting on a new line, with each song title followed by song credits, then lead vocalist. Commonly known as Variation B simply due to the correct ‘Doctor Robert’ to side 2 label.

VINYL AUDIO. EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING. BOTH SIDES REALLY ARE SUPERB.

There’s only very light surface noise/static on the intro to side 1&2, with barely any/next to no ‘crackle’ during or between tracks. It’s a truly excellent audio experience throughout. Have rarely heard better.

VINYL APPEARANCE. EXCELLENT.

Both sides have just a very small number of light marks/hairlines, and even then, they’re only really visible under angled light. Nothing deep or feelable, and absolutely nothing that interferes with playback.

LABELS. VG+/ EXCELLENT.

Side 1. VG+

Sans-Serif Arial font (see above).

Clean, bright and graffiti free, with a small ‘Nick’ below ‘resale price’, and minor spindle ware; really only seen under angled light. VG+

Side 2. Excellent.

As above, but cleaner, and less ware etc. Excellent.

KT embossed tax code.

SLEEVE. VG+ (Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending.)

The front side has some creasing, most noticeable near the spine, and to bottom left corner, with a little corner ware/a very small area of laminate ware. Some scuffing to the corners.

The spine has some light creasing, but is relatively strong and easily legible. Again, minimum VG+

The rear panel is again VG+, with some creasing and faint ringing to left of John. There are light marks/scuffing elsewhere. The flip-backs are strong, but again with a little creasing. Some edgeware to bottom flip-back. (See photos).

ORIGINAL PATENT APPLIED FOR INNER. VG+

Early editions of this album, were housed either in an EMI advertising inner, or plain white ‘Made In Great Britain’ ‘Patents Applied For’. This is the latter, and other than some yellowing due to age, is in VG+ condition. There are no rips/tares, just a little creasing.

So in conclusion, this is an original Stereo 1st press of ‘Revolver’, in its original inner, with excellent/perhaps near mint audio, in a G&L sleeve, that’s VG+. Correct ‘Doctor Robert’ to label, though ‘Dr. Robert’ to sleeve. An essential edition to any serious Beatle collection.
