Description
The Beatles, rare promotional record not for sale 45 copy of strawberry Fields forever and Penny Lane the classic double A side release, catalog number p-5810. More Beatles rarity from The professional musicians estate from North Carolina.
This is the yellow and black label. This has the Maclen music Inc BMI markings, produced in England by George Martin. This promo is famous because it has a longer version of Penny Lane on it including a trumpet ending which is extremely well known. This also has the distinction of being the very first ever Beatles promotional 45 produced by capital records. By this time they'd already put out I believe 15 singles but magically in the middle of 1967 they decided to start doing promotional items for their 45s and that apparently is what this is.
This is as I said the yellow and black capital records label promotional record on the left and not for sale on the right of both sides of the record. As near as I can tell this appears to be an original copy not as I understand it one of the forgeries that came out sometime ago. As this has all the correct markings the correct sleeve and the markings that would indicate the Los Angeles manufacturing plant for capital.
Overall the condition appears to be in like new condition It needs a good cleaning It's smudgy from being handled but it doesn't appear to have any marks on it near that I can tell. The run out number for the Penny Lane side is 45-45871-f-1 and then it has the Los Angeles printing location mark the six pointed star for lack of a better way to describe it. On the strawberry Fields forever side the run out number is 45-45870-G-2-2 and it also has the six pointed star emblem for the Capitol records Los Angeles plant This was released in 1967, As a precursor to what was coming that spring when they released Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts club band album. The original sleeve is in excellent condition It does have a couple of small tears in the center of the top It also has the catalog number 5810 printed on one side and then print printed in the USA on the other side and also the 5810.
As with all vintage electronics and media this is sold as is with no warranties either expressed or implied as such this is non-returnable and non-refundable.
