Yellow and Black Parlophone Labels

This is the first and original uncut mix of Rubber Soul with the first master matrices on both sides. It was a short lived pressing and was discontinued shortly after Xmas1965. It has the print 1st record labels and original sleeve and is how Rubber Soul appeared when it first hit the stores.

This Loud Cut is particularly rare due to the Ernest J. Day sleeve - EMI's contract with Ernest J. Day was coming to an end, and so more were issued with Garrod & Lofthouse sleeves.

The Sleeve: 1st & original Flipback sleeve in Very Good Plus Condition.

Has maintained an overall firm shape, sharp edges with no fraying and spine corners are sharp,  those near the opening side have a little tip-edge wear. Fully laminated with light creasing on on the front. All flipbacks fully intact, all lamination present - just a few light creases, and there are no splits or rips. Spine fully intact and title text clear and bold. The iconic front photo is superb, this is the darker image (later prints had a light green hue, and a lighter red 'Rubber Soul'). This is the original photograph with the tear on John Lennon's right shoulder not yet air-brushed out! Still glossy and the back of the sleeve is clean.

No sticker or sticker residue, and no writing or writing imprints.

Inner Sleeve : This is the original and correct EMI Emitex 'Made In England' tracing paper lined inner sleeve. It is in  an Excellent condition and fully functional with no splits and is intact inside and out at all seams.

The Vinyl: In Very Good to Very Good Plus condition. The vinyl retains a deep bright black glossy finish. Turned angled under direct light, there non-feelable superficial stylus hairlines on both sides in most areas, showing that this surface has received a fair number of plays, but they are very light and all purely on the surface, and clear to see nothing troublesome.

The surface is completely smooth and in normal light the vinyl surfaces still look fresh and project a mirror-like shine. There are no feelable marks or scratches on either side. The vinyl is clean, the record lays completely flat on the turntable, has no scuffs, no dinks in the vinyl, and no warps.

Very heavy robust sixties vinyl weighing at 177 grams.

Labels are Very Good Plus. Text is clear and bright, the perimeter area around the spindle location point has fine spindle wear and spindle line traces can been seen but not particularly deep.

Has the KT tax code embossed on Side 1.

The text for the song titles is the Block capital Sans Serif font. The loud cut was only pressed for a few weeks, but during this time the font was changed from block capital to Times New Roman font which can be found on later Loud Cuts and the early second presses.

The Audio: The audio grades as Very Good Plus, it has no detractions such as pops, skips, or sticks. There is quick jump on Norwegian Wood and Nowhere Man on Side 2. There is no other interference and otherwise the audio grades as Excellent. Lead-in's to the tracks are quiet with only the lightest of soft static type ticks on those at the start of each side as usual, but hardly noticeable. The surfaces project a full original edgy bass reproduction, and the vocals are crisp and original. There is no background noise and this LP reveals a true rendition of a Loud Cut pressing.

The robustness of these early pressings always ensures that the sound quality doesn't deteriorate noticeably as long as the record has not been mistreated.

The mono bass line is noticeably different to later pressings.

This LP will be securely delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners.

A plain anti-static inner sleeve will house the record and the original will be placed separately.

A high grade PVC sleeve is included to further protect the LP as shown.

UK delivery is included and signed for.
