PRODUCER George Martin COMMENTS Black and Yellow Parlophone label with silver print:
the name "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD.(capital letter)" on the outer rim, the "SOLD IN U.K." remark, and the "(P) 1966" statement.
"THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD. (capital letter)" was printed at the perimeter. "(P) 1966" statement was printed on the label.
Tax code "K and T" letters were embossed.
Sleeves for "Revolver (mono)" did two London’s of printing house: Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd. and Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. This issue has a sleeve made by Ernest J. Day.
The mono and stereo releases were issued in separate catalog number series until early 1966. In 1966, the catalog number series was restarted at 7001 with mono and stereo releases now having the same catalog numbers.
First label (this record) has Sans-serif print and song name "DR. ROBERT" on the Side 2.
First pressing with mispressing. Side 2 matrix no.: XEX 606-1 have "Remix 11" of "Tomorrow Never Knows". When "Revolver" was initially mixed a different master for "Tomorrow Never Knows" was sent off to be pressed. This mix is known as "Remix 11". Although subtle, it is different to the standard "Remix 8" which was ultimately to replace it.

Parlophone Decoding
Masters produced Mothers which then create Stampers. The Master is the matrix at the 6 o'clock position, the Mother is the number etched in the deadwax at the 9 o'clock location and the Stamper is identified by the letter(s) etched at the 3 o'clock postion. For the 3 o'clock position, Parlophone use the following coding: G R A M O P H L T D (Gramophone Ltd) where G=1, R=2, A=3, M=4, O=5, P=6, H=7, L=8, T=9 and D=0.
The Master was unique it was considered a Libray item. For each Mother was pressed 300 records.
On this record:
Side 1. Mother = 1, Stamper = GO (10). I.e. side 1 is pressed from the 1st Mother and
Side 2. Mother = 3, Stamper = GA (13) side 3 from the 3rd Mother, which means that this copy is from the very early batches made ready for sale, hence quite rare.
