Mega Rare 'Ridged' labels....
Both sides have a rare ‘ridged’ label indentation (c10mm inside the edge) which only exists on a few pressings of this LP - see label scan. It was originally thought that these ‘ridged’ labels were CBS contract pressings.
However, it is now believed that they were manufactured using an ‘old-style’ EMI pressing machine similar to the ones that produced the 'ridged' Gold Label 'Please Please Me' pressings i.e. an early 1960s pressing machine was re-comissioned in 1966 to help cope with demand for this LP.
It appears that only 'Revolver' and 'Rubber Soul' had short run pressings using these early 1960s old-style machines (creating ridged labels) and are now highly sought after by Beatles collectors.
Cover: Garrod & Lofthouse 1st pressing laminated front (unlaminated rear) with triple flip-backs. No writings, doodles or seam splits. A little grubby to the rear. Clear readable spine. Rates as VG+ to Near Excellent - see photos.
Inner sleeve: Excellent. 'Patent no. 1,125,555' text in bottom left corner. No seam splits, writings or doodles.
Labels: Excellent. No writings, stickers or doodles.
Vinyl: Play tested. Thick heavy duty 1st pressing vinyl. Looks VG to VG+ with some non-feelable marks and hairlines and plays VG. Some background static at the beginning of both sides, between tracks and in quiet places.

Gradings.......
Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
