VERY-RARE YELLOW 'PARLOPHONE' LABELS, AND A 'STEREO' PRESSING AT THAT
Now you don't see many NZ pressings of Beatles For Sale with these labels. Indeed up until only a few years ago, few collectors were even aware that it existed.
The black label with yellow 'Parlophone' text was widely used in other countries e.g. the U.K., Australia, et al. However, H.M.V. New Zealand had eschewed, domestically at least, the U.K. LP label template in favour of labels with a blue background, the exceptions being 'Sgt. Pepper's' and 'Yellow Submarine' which did utilise the black/yellow 'Parlophone' label style (though its usage on 'Yellow Submarine' was the consequence of an error).
How, exactly, the black/yellow 'Parlophone' labels found their way onto a few copies of NZ's 'Beatles For Sale' is anybody's guess.
The vinyl grades as VG+/EX. A few minor marks but no scratches, gouges or stains.
The less said about the sleeve the better; but the value of this item lies in the labels on the vinyl, not the sleeve in which it's poorly-housed.
