This is an original, first pressing of this high energy debut album, which marks the beginning of a career that would effectively define pop itself and carry the band to the very peak of public recognition, and subsequently into realms of experimentation with sound that would create a template for so much rock and pop music since.

Producer George Martin invited the band to Abbey Road to record songs they’d spent months perfecting live, the recording of the album was fast, the band committing ten of these tracks to tape in just a single day.  Please Please Me saw the McCartney-Lennon songwriting partnership blossom and the immediacy of these songs remains irresistible. 

The album had a lengthy reign at the top of the UK albums chart, and Lennon’s vocal on the climactic Twist and Shout is perhaps the most wonderfully loose, ragged-edged element of a record which is bursting with youth, energy and musical talent from this iconic band, The Beatles.

Condition

Vinyl – Good, many light scratches but the record plays through with only light crackle in quiet parts, no jumping or skipping, sounds great.

Labels – Very good condition, some spindle marks.

Cover – Wear with some creases to laminate, bumped corners, back has some rubbing loss wear, some little tears to flap backs and a split where paper back is detached from bottom laminated flapback.

Emitex Inner Sleeve– Thick, very good condition, some wear.
