THE BEATLES. 2 Alternative Pressings - PMCO.1202 (XEX.421) NEW ZEALAND & PMCO-1202 XEX422.
Both Covers are marked as Made & Distributed In Australia by EMI (Australia) Limited ........ The cover with the NZ pressed record is a slightly darker / deeper color than the Australian pressed record - apart from that they seem identical.
The labels are significantly different as per photos [please excuse the quality of my photographs - the writing on both labels is clearer / more distinct than they appear in the photos]. All the writing is nice & clear. The hole punched in the NZ pressing on side 1 has taken out a couple of letters of the word Zealand.
The Australian pressing has XEX 422-IN on the disc & below PMCO-1202 on the label. The NZ pressing disc is marked XEX 421 and has nothing under PMCO.1202 the number XEX.421 is (note in there is a dot between PMCO & 1202 rather than a dash in The OZ pressing)
The labels differ around the outer / The copyright details are in different positions etc etc. The photos should be plain enough for inspection.
I have played both records & they both play extremely well / no audible interference / no crackles etc - both V/G.
The covers both are worn / have minor soiling / both have ringmarks / The Australian pressed cover has a name written in pen on the back - The NZ pressed cover has $3.50 written in pen & $5.50 written in pencil on the back / both have some creasing & fraying about the seams with the OZ one a little worse on the spine / No rips etc.
Both labels are N/M.
Records will be double skin wrapped in cardboard which is why postage may seem a little high.
Thanks to another Ebay member [see questions] this is a contract pressing by EMI NZ when Australian production could not keep up with production numbers.
