For auction is a great condition original First U.K. mono issue of The Beatles debut album Please Please Me.
Most copies of this original issue for sale nowadays tend to be very battered and in overall poor condition.
This copy - genuine in all areas - is in great condition and really enjoyable to listen to.
The original ‘Gold’ sleeve, with the photo credit on the front to the far right under the last S of Songs, is in far better than average condition. Spine fully intact and readable and only minor damage to rear foldover flaps. I grade the sleeve as VG+.
Original Parlophone use Emitex inner sleeve in excellent condition.
Record - labels are clean showing the first issue Dick James credits clearly. Minor spindle wear. 1P 1L stampers.
Record visually is VG, with some visible scuffs and shallow scratches. Even so, much cleaner than most copies for sale.
Sonically is a VG+, with no sticks clicks skips or jumps but some light crackles in quiet passages.
All in all a great condition copy of a piece of history.
