THE BEATLES – Love Me Do ORIG Parlophone Single / 45-R 4949 (UK, Mono, 1962)
Happy to present an original copy of the Fabs very 1st UK single on original red Parlophone label from 1962. This disc shows the following:
- The Parlophone Co. Ltd text in lower case
- ‘Recording first published 1962’ to the lower left of the label
- Ardmore & Beechwood publishing credit
- ‘P T’ tax code embossed to the centre of the B label
- (Machine stamped) Matrices 7XCE 17144-1N / 7XCE 17145-1N
- Mothers/Stampers: 1 O (Side A) / 1 G (Side B)
- Also stamped on both sides at 9 o’clock: P (above) ZT (below).
The vinyl is visually in VG (Very Good) condition. That does NOT mean any heavy markings. There are many soft, thin and fine scuff-type marks with some hairlines too but the disc’s surface still maintains good shine. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays very well with quiet run-ins, NO snap or pop, NO clicks or loud ticks. Under the music there is a hint of surface but this is being picky. It plays without distortion and of course no sticks or jumps. A degree of fine dust particles mean play would improve even further with a pro clean. Still plays close to EX.
The labels have survived well! There are no stickers or residue and only VERY light spindle trails around the centre hole on each side, mainly to Side B.
Supplied in a nice Type A sleeve without splits (believed to be its original)
