Love Me Do was released on October 5th 1962 and would have had a "ZT" tax code in the dead wax These tax codes were the equivalent of today's VAT. "ZT" was used as a tax code until 25 November 1962 a total of 52 days before the new "PT"  code was applied. "PT" ran until 31 December 1962 a total of 36 days. So much rarer then the "ZT" stamped discs.
To apply the new tax, the "PT" would be stamped alongside the existing "old" stock of records  which had been pressed with the now "incorrect" and out of date. "ZT" code.
This disc has the "ZT" tax code stamped in the dead wax but also has a "PT" paper stamp applied meaning that this was a very early "PT".
I have NEVER seen a paper stamp used instead of the code being stamped into the dead wax.
I have not cleaned the record and will leave that for the new owner. As they say "it is only original once". The record plays with a little background crackle but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING SERIOUS despite the many hairlines on the surface of the record. The labels have a few spindle traces and has a name written on it. I have seen a lot worse.
The labels DO NOT have "Made in Gt Britain" text.
The matrix marks are 7XCE 17144-IN  and 7XCE 17145-IN 
Comes with correct Wavy Line / Beach sleeve.

 I have played through it several times with NO problem. Make sure your stylus is clean please. The disc will be sent separately from the sleeve to avoid splitting in the post.             The vinyl plays as EX/EX (See below for definition)  
  • EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. There may be hairlines. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.


THIS IS AN VERY RESPECTABLE PLAYING ORIGINAL EXAMPLE OF THIS LANDMARK SINGLE. 
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc. If you feel I have not described this correctly I am happy to refund you providing I receive the item back in the same condition as it leaves me.
