"THE BEATLES IN ITALY" -13.7.65 - PMCQ 31506-SILVER BLACK LABEL - PARLOPHON  (instead of PARLOPHONE ) - MONO - ORIGINAL ITALIAN FIRST PRESS 1968

...The "Beatles in Italy album" is highly sought after.....

Some notes for your info, even though the collectors won't need them.

The album is not a live album, it's featuring a collection of various non-LP tracks. It was originally only available in MONO. It was first issued in 1965 with a red label, which is actually the most difficult to find.

Immediately after this press, still in 1965 the silver-black label came, with Parlophon logo as well. This was the second press 1965.

And now here we are with the copy for the auction : this is the FIRST PRESS 1968, very similar to the second press 1965. You have actually the same silver black Parlophon label, and the same label mistakes :

- Misprint on B side :  " 5 Yes i tis "

- Misorder:  " 2 I call your name"  " 3 Slow down "(have a look at the cover tracks list )

These errors make this pressing even more a super collector's item !!

The only main difference with the 1965 press is the non gatefold cover.

Matrix numbers machine stamped into the dead vinyl as follows :

SIDE ONE : XX 9009

SIDE TWO : XX9010

I try now to give you an honest and correct grading, even if it's not easy to express a universally acknowledged statement for this kind of matter...

Cover : VG

Vynil : VG++

I would simply say..." not bad after more than 40 years of beatin' and rockin'..."
