ORIGINAL UK PARLOPHONE (PMC 1240) FIRST *MONO* PRESSING (December 1964) OF THE BEATLES' FOURTH LP, "Beatles For Sale" - IN WELL PLAYED BUT REALLY EXCELLENT CONDITION DELIVERING SUPERB AUDIO THROUGHOUT - VERY CLEAN, BRIGHT AND FRESH - SOUNDS GREAT
PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH THE FIRST YELLOW/BLACK PARLOPHONE LABELS WHICH HAVE "The Parlophone Co. Ltd." RIM TEXT, "SOLD IN UK..." AND "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" STATEMENTS BUT THERE IS NO 'KT' TAX CODE VISIBLE ON EITHER LABEL
THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, OUTER LAMINATED FLIPBACK AND SINGLE FOLD-OVER FRONT LEAF GATEFOLD SLEEVE, "Made and printed in Great Britain" (no printers credits) WITH THE OUTLINED "MONO" ON THE FRONT
AND COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL EMI 'EMITEX' GREASEPROOF-PAPER LINED INNER SLEEVE

LABELS: The labels are clean and unmarked with spindle traces and some wear around the spindle hole. This copy has clearly see many plays but not played on poor equipment to the point of distortion - it sounds great - EXCELLENT
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces still retain their original deep, glossy sheen with no dulling but there are some general light marks (nothing at all major or feel-able to the touch) - EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: Outstanding MONO audio delivery on this first pressing with a crystal clear, deep, rich and detailed sound (and a superb loud cut) - very, very impressive indeed and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listings) there are no scratches, no skips or jumps, no prominent surface noise and no loud clicks or pops (there are a couple of light clicks at the beginning of "No Reply' but they're nothing really) - it actually plays really, really well throughout (to a much higher standard than many lesser played copies I have seen) and the run-ins and track divisions are all practically silent. I also detected no groove-wear or distortion to the audio on my play-through and I would critically grade this copy EXCELLENT - sounds great
SLEEVE: The original G&L internal flipback gatefold with the single thickness front leaf is in very nice condition. There is no real top and bottom edge wear to speak of and all text on the ('pinched' thick) spine is clear and bold. The outer laminated surface still retains their original deep, glass-like glossy sheen with just some half-moon creases towards the opening edge and a crease on the bottom back corner. The unlaminated inside is clean and unmarked. Overall, a very fine example - EXCELLENT
INNER : The EMITEX inner has no splits and is still very white with no discolouration but has some creasing - EXCELLENT (The LP is now housed - and will be posted in - a new inner (with NAGAOKA anti-static liner) to avoid any damage to the original inner during transit)
