EXPORT PRESSING. FIRST ISSUE
Manufactured by the EMI Record Company in Hayes, Middlesex, England on the Parlophone label, in common with the other 1960s Beatles LPs.
However, this was not intended for sale in the UK and was designed solely for export. This was the first in a very short-lived export series made by EMI as they were quickly discontinued. The item you are looking at here is the very first pressing of this rare issue as can be seen by the early style Parlophone label having the company name in Yellow on a Black background. Do note that this is not the slightly more common later issue with an EMI logo, this is the genuine article!
The number on the cover ~ CPCS 101 ~ is exclusive to this record. The matrix numbers (XEEX 7 B12 and 8 B12) are also exclusive to this record.
The really exciting thing about this Beatles Super-Rarity is that this LP was never issued in the UK in any form, the cover design never appeared and the tracks were never issued in this format on any UK. In fact, this is the only time the song "Komm, gib mir deine hand" ("I want to hold your hand" sung in German) ever appeared on a UK Parlophone LP!
I cannot overstate the rarity and desirability of this British Made Parlophone LP.
The cover is in superb condition. There is no creasing to the front and only the minimum 'ring wear' visible. All laminate is intact. The back is, again, very clean, all the fold-over edges are intact and perfectly glued. There is a name written in blue on the lower edge occupying an area of 5cm X 1cm. The record labels are perfect, clean and unwritten with only a minimum of spindle wear. The surface on both sides has light surface marks but nothing severe. The audio quality is excellent stereo and there is only a slight crackle between tracks at high volumes.
This is a really beautiful example of one of the rarest Beatles UK pressing LPs.
