A superb example of this very rare label variation of The Beatles Beatles For Sale album. This record was only available for 3 months in the middle of 1969, after which the new EMI/Parlophone silver and black box labels were introduced.
Pressed on the yellow and black Parlophone label with silver lettering. There is no KT tax code, no “Recording first published” and no “Sold in the uk” text on the labels. The rim text reads THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD and Track A7 on side 1 is titled as “Kansas City (Lieber-stoller)”.
Record comes in a laminated gatefold sleeve with flip-back tabs inside and original Emitex inner sleeve.
All records are kept in plastic sleeves and will be mailed in professional packaging with stiffeners.
Condition.
I grade my records under bright light so that there is complete correlation between how the record looks and how it sounds.
Vinyl: EX+ Vinyl is still shiny and looks brand new. The music plays loud and bright throughout.There is the odd crackle here and there, but I'm being very critical; it is well below the music. This record is in awesome condition. Under a bright light I can see minimal sleeve removal marks and 3 small hairlines. They are all light on the surface and cannot be heard. The label looks like it was pressed yesterday. Under bright light I can still only see a feint line around the spindle hole on each side. Amazing
Cover: EX. The top right corner has a very very light crease. The two spine corners of the gatefold have cracked a tiny amount (about 5mm in each case) and there are two bubbles in the laminate towards the spine, you can see they are unnoticable in the larger photo. The corners are all still sharp and clean. The top edge of the front flap has a tiny amount of wear to it (about 1mm)
