THE BEATLES BOX FROM LIVERPOOL. 1980 CBS PEL-51-81. Made in Columbia, South America, for CBS. The original mail order Beatles Box From Liverpool. 8 LPs in individual picture sleeves. Doesn't include a booklet or inserts.
I bought this box set in 1980 as a mail order from World Records and I played the records once to record them. I looked at both sides of all eight records and all eight records look Near Mint to me. All the records are in plastic sleeves inside the individual cardboard picture sleeves.
There are a few slightly pinched corners throughout the 8 individual cardboard picture sleeves. Five of the individual cardboard picture sleeves look brand new. These five look Near Mint to me. The picture sleeves for records 1, 2 and 6 also look new, but these three have a 1" to 1.5" section in the center of the top where the sleeve is worn and beginning to separate. I'm not sure why, because the rest of the jacket looks new. It may have been caused by the records or it may be the way they were manufactured. Because of this, I think these three are in Very Good + or Excellent condition.
The front top and bottom right corners of the box are slightly pinched due to handling. All the other corners, front and back look Near Mint to me. I am not a dealer or a professional grader, I'm just a former collector trying to get a fair price for my records.
