Policies Grading Records Back to Top I grade records following Goldmine Publications guidelines. Mint-Unopened and unplayed. Near Mint-Opened and implying that it has been played at least once. No defects beyond merely insignificant and certainly not scratched. Plays quiet. Very Good Plus-No significant wear. May have a few slight scratches or scruffs. Little or no ring or age wear to the cover, no matter that it is 40-50 years old. Plays with slight or occassional noise and some times random pop. Very Good-Obvious wear to vinyl and cover. Plays with surface noise that never overpowers. Plays thru without skipping. It is still a very good listen and cover still looks very nice with one or two minor defects. Good-Plays thru without skipping but will have significant surface noise. Many scratches and groove wear will be evident. Cover will have seam splits, tape, writing or ring wear that will overwhelm the object. Poor-Cracked or badly warped, won't play without skipping and cover is barely keeping the LP inside it. Cover will be overwhelmed with defects. Not worth having unless impossibly rare.
