Description
This is an auction for The Beatles LP, A Hard Day's Night.
This was released by Parlophone records in 1964 and has catalogue number PMC1230. This is the 1st press with a black and yellow label with "Recording first published 1964", "The Parlophone Co Ltd" and "Sold In U.K." label text. This also comes with a G & L sleeve with a mid sized "Mono" on the front cover. Please check the pictures for clarification.
Matrix: XEX 481 3N XEX 482 3N
Condition: The sleeve has some discolouring, buffing to the very corners and mouth edge and lamination creases, mostly seen along the edges. Spine & Edges ex, no tears, bends or creases, complete and graded at a strict VG.
This comes with its original "Emitex" inner sleeve which has some yellowing.
Both labels look fine, some spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole shows some signs of wear on each side. The pictures have not come up to clear on these labels, this is certainly not well played and shows little more than a few spindle trails, the dusting can be seen only at the top of label one and could possibly be cleaned.
The vinyl retains its new shine, 2 small scratches are visible in normal light, with a few feather scratches seen under a strong light. I have test played this and found the audio to be just about perfect. I did not hear one crackle on this. Quiet breaks and entries, strong audio which plays with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. Certainly playing with very little lessening in sound quality and not appearing to suffer from any reduction due to wear. Super sound quality on this one.
Graded at a strict VG+, down-graded for the 2 small visible scratches, audio certainly near mint, nice appearance, acceptable sleeve & inner.
Buying for sound quality, this one is for you, a worthy addition to any collection.
