This was the first The Beatles LP not to reach No.1 on release - hardly surprising as "Revolver" was still selling well, and 13 of the 16 tracks came from million selling singles

PRESSED ON HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH THE FIRST YELLOW/BLACK PARLOPHONE LABELS WHICH HAVE AN EMBOSSED 'KT' TAX CODE ON SIDE TWO, "THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD" RIM TEXT AND "SOLD IN UK..." STATEMENT
MATRIX: XEX 619 - 1G / XEX 620 - 1G
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 1/H and 1/H (in the batch of the first 2,000 or so pressed)
THE LP IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL FRONT LAMINATED FLIPBACK SLEEVE "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending"
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE WITH "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" AND "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" TEXT PRINTED IN GREY

LABELS: EXCELLENT+
The labels are clean and unmarked. There is some rubbing around the spindle hole but there are no spindle traces as such. The KT tax code on Side Two is bold, prominent and unworn
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT+/EXCELLENT
Clean, bright and fresh surfaces. Side One is practically unmarked (just wispy hairiness under bright light). Side Two has some superficial light marks which are more like pressing blemishes than later play-wear - these have no audio significance
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT+
Great sound throughout with a crystal clear, bright, rich and detailed MONO cut.
My play-check at loud volume revealed no major audio distractions, just a slight touch of background on some of the track divisions.
I don't think this copy has been played that much at all
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
Superb example - clean, crisp, sharp and fresh with no real wear to speak of, a deep glossy sheen to the front laminate and a clean, unmarked back with no damage to the flipback sections
INNER : EXCELLENT++
The original 'patents applied for' inner has no seam splits and is clean, white and very fresh - seen very little handling
