The Beatles - 'Hey Jude'. CPCS 106
The Beatles 1970 UK EXPORT FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of the 'Hey Jude' LP. Released on the 26th February 1970, these were pressed IN the UK and shipped abroad for sale. Bizarrely some were re-imported for sale in the UK. This album did not get an official UK release until 1979, NINE years later.
These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.
Released on the dark UK Apple label and housed within black die cut inner sleeve and fully laminated CPCS 106 sleeve.
The side one label features a typo error - ‘Paperback Writer’ is spelt as three words rather than two which is correct - ’Paper Back Writer’. The sleeve correctly its it as ‘Paperback Writer’.
The Matrix numbers are:
Side 1. YEEX 150-1 2 RD
Side 2. YEEX 151-1 1 GG
The vinyl is in EXCELLENT- condition.
Both labels are in MINT- condition.
The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition. Laminate lifting on the rear.
The inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD- condition. Seam split to the bottom edge. I shall include an additional inner sleeve to protect the original.
