THE BEACH BOYS
“TODAY!”
MEGARARE original High Fidelity Capitol Records, very first Mono press released by Capitol Records, made and distributed in Brazil in 1965 by Industrias Electricas E Musicais Fabrica Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records), licensed from Capitol Records Inc., USA, catalog number T-2269, with machine etched matrix numbers T1-2269 in Side 1 and T2-2269 in Side 2, with blue/silver Odeon labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM SOUTH AMERICA!!!
“Today!” was originally released in USA in 1965 and late the same year it was released in Brazil and like in most of the cases of the period in South America, it was released with an unique kind of cover. The cover is made of two single pieces of thin cardboard with 2 sheets of paper for front and back covers attached to those cardboards and all kept together by an outer plastic bag which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps the original artwork with all text in English only but back cover is different, with album title and tracklist only in English and a brief review about the band and the album in Portuguese only. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in English only with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses. So, here you have the chance to get and own this megarare press of this album by The Beach Boys with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE BLUE ODEON Records labels, a record almost never seen and auctine here in eBay only a handful of times, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Beach Boys and Psych/Pop music.
The cover was already described and it’s in absolute EX+ or NM- condition, clear and clean, no ring marks (in the pictures you can see a ring mark, but it’s not real, it’s in the plastic bag, not in the paper), no writings, no creases, no rips, only some minimal wear. The record is in superb VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with loads of scuffs and light hairline and some soft scratches, which don’t affect the sound. Labels on both sides are in EX- or EX condition both sides, absolutely clean and clear with only minimal spindle wear and a writing with black pen in Side 2. The sound is in absolute VG+ or EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise, no pops, no clicks, only soft constant crackles, mostly evident in the silent parts between each song, but which don’t cause distraction from the great sound this record keeps. Overall a great record with still a glossy look and great sound quality after about 58 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of the record!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
