THE BAND - Last Waltz '78 Original Pressing. Includes 3 Vinyl Discs in Sleeves, Booklet, and Cardboard Cover. The Discs are in Near Mint or Mint (NM or M) Condition. I suspect only the first disc has been played one time and the other two haven't been touched. Outer Cover is Excellent (EX) with a previous owner's last name signed by pen in lower left corner. Also has minor corner and spine wear as well as discoloration. Near Mint or Mint (NM or M) Inner Sleeves, and an Excellent (EX) Booklet.

The Last Waltz was a concert by the Canadian-American rock group The Band, held on American Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1976, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The Last Waltz was advertised as The Band's "farewell concert appearance", and the concert saw The Band joined by more than a dozen special guests, including their previous employers Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan as well as Paul Butterfield, Bobby Charles, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, and Neil Young. The musical director for the concert was The Band's original record producer, John Simon.
The concert was produced and managed by Bill Graham and was filmed by director Martin Scorsese, who made it into a documentary of the same title, released in 1978. Jonathan Taplin, who was The Band's tour manager from 1969 to 1972 and later produced Scorsese's film Mean Streets, suggested that Scorsese would be the ideal director for the project and introduced Robbie Robertson and Scorsese. Taplin served as executive producer. The film features concert performances, intermittent song renditions shot on a studio soundstage, and interviews by Scorsese with members of The Band. The soundtrack and DVD were later released.
The Last Waltz is hailed as one of the greatest documentary concert films ever made. In 2019, the film was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
Maintenance:
Each record is clean and ready to play. Every record has been brushed with a mobile fidelity record brush, then clamped into a WEWU ROUNDS vinyl record label saver. Next, each record sprayed with a tergikleen/distilled water solution and allowed to sit for several minutes before being wiped with a double-layered plus microfiber cloth with zero decolorization or fiber shedding. This is followed by another spray of pure distilled water and a final wiping with single layered microfiber cloths. Finally, each record is released from the WEWU ROUNDS vinyl record saver, set in a rack to dry for several minutes, blasted with a can of compressed air to remove residual water (if needed), and placed into a fresh archival inner record sleeve. Cotton gloves are worn for all handling of records.
While old and yellowing record sleeves are discarded if they are plain, if the original record sleeve has any distinguishing features such as colors, pictures or writing I have included it empty just for the collectible value it might provide. However, I do not recommend using this sleeve again, as it will not be totally clean inside. I would place the record only in the fresh archival inner record sleeve.
