PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
CRAZY RARE original Los Angeles first pressing of this stone new wave masterpiece from July 12, 1979 on Warner Brothers with original yellow colored label and glossy full color printed inner sleeve with complete lyrics and rounded corners at the opening!!! The ONLY pressing with a yellow label is this first L.A. pressing as subsequent pressings were issued with a standard Warner Brothers shield label and pressed in a larger quantity once the album took off upon release. LP is VG/VG+ with a few light paper scuffs. Cover is VG/VG+ as well with no splits, no seams and some light ring. Like a campy sci-fi B-movie with a punk attitude, this LP caught everyone off guard when released to an unsuspecting audience 46 years ago(!). Most albums this far ahead of their time drop off the face of the earth, percolate for a few decades and resurface when the public has finally caught up but mercifully this LP was not to suffer such a fate. Rightfully hailed as one of the greatest LPs of all time by me. Everyone knows the fantastically dumb Rock Lobster but a deeper dive into the LP gives you 52 Girls, Planet Claire, Dance This Mess Around and so many more great cuts. You will not be disappointed. Every fan of music NEEDS this LP and purists will have to have this first and only yellow label pressing.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING~ MINT (SEALED) NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF US VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
