Description
The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation 'Doctor Dunbar's Prescription' 1968 UK original vinyl album on the blue Liberty label, catalogue number LBS83177 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side 1: LBS 83177 A//1 v420 1 4 4 Side 2: LBS 83177 B//1 v420 1 1 4
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. When viewed under a bright light I can see a scattering of light surface scratches on both sides - most are caused by bag movement, but there are a few small scuffs and superficial stylus scratches. I cannot feel any of them with light fingertip touch. The record appears to have been quite lightly played and the surfaces still look bright and glossy. The record plays very clearly with just a little crackle and a few light ticks just noticeable to me on track 2, Side 1 and track 4, Side 2 - nothing spoils the enjoyment of this great record and there are no sticks, no skips, no jumps and very little lessening of the sound quality.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have some light spindle lines, no writing, no damage.
The cover is a standard single sleeve.The front is coated with a clear laminate which has some creases at the edges, two small thumb creases near the open edge, some faint indents (barely visible) and slight surface rub wear which traces the outer edge of the record. The back is not laminated, it has some rub wear and light browning over the whole surface area, but remains reasonably clean and fully readable - as you can see it has a name written neatly in biro on the top left corner and a circular blue sticker on the top right corner (I am not sure what that is covering but I don't want to remove it in case it causes damage).
The spine is in very good order, quite a few brown cross creases but all intact and fully readable.
The inner sleeve is the original with a 'UK patent number' and 'Foreign Patents pending'; it is remarkably clean, tidy and still poly-lined - not much different from how it would have been when new - no seam splits, no tears, no damage.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the cover is at least 'very good', probably 'very good+', the record is visually 'very good+' and the audio ranges from 'very good+' to 'excellent'
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a strong record mailing box with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
