Description
The Alan Bown self titled 1969 LP US Deram DES18032 stereo in gatefold jacket.
I purchased this record in 1969 and it is from my personal collection. It is not a reissue.
It is a rare LP because it has Jess Roden's original lead vocals which were re-recorded by Robert Palmer on the UK release. Discogs describes the situation: This US version of the release features the alternate/original Jess Roden vocals (billed on the LP jacket as Jeremey). Roden had quit the band, and for the UK release his vocals were re-recorded and replaced by Robert Palmer's. Additionally the US version features the single STILL AS STONE as track one, rather than MY FRIEND. Both Palmer and Roden are pictured in the gate-fold artwork. Palmer is listed as a band member, but with no vocal or musician credit.
The gatefold jacket is in "NM" condition with no shelf wear, seam splits or cutout holes (see photos).
The vinyl is in "NM" condition; matrix numbers are 1/1; the record has been stored in a poly lined paper sleeve since purchase (see photos).
Vinyl grading is based on the following criteria:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
“EX+” close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
“EX” a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
“VG+” There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
