THAT'S ALL. 'TWICE AS MUCH' LP. 1st UK PRESSING! IMMEDIATE LABELS CAT NO. IMCP 013 ((1968))) FOLK\PSYCH! AWESOME TOP AUDIO! (NEAR PERFECT ON MY SYSTEMS) NO LOUD CLICKS OR POPS! MINIMAL PLAY ONLY! AWESOME FOR 42 YEARS OLD!!!

Impossibly rare and scarce to find 1968 1st UK pop\folk\ album on the Immediate labels! Awesome top audio quality throughout!

One of the most anonymous-sounding acts of the British Invasion, Twice as Much was the duo of Dave Skinner and Andrew Rose, harmony singers who also wrote much of their own material!!. Signed to the Immediate label (run by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham), the pair recorded several singles and a couple of albums between 1966 and 1968!! Becoming extreemely scarce to find and highly collectable, The vinyl has had only minimal play and the playing surface is superbe with no visable scratches that I can see at all, this is complete with the original unlaminated cover sleeve printed by Upton group in at least excellent condition without splits or tares and no creases just very light rubbing only that is consistant with a 42 year old cover !!.

Twice as Much was composed of David Skinner (born David Ferguson Skinner, and Andrew Rose (born 12 March 1947, Edgware, Middlesex) and were harmony singers who also wrote much of their own material. They were signed to Immediate Records, which was run by The Rolling Stones manager, Andrew Loog Oldham!!.

The pair recorded four singles ("Sittin' on a Fence" b/w "Baby I Want You"; "Step Out of Line" / "Simplified"; "True Story" / "You're So Good For Me"; "Crystal Ball" / "Why Can't They All Go And Leave Me Alone") and two albums, Own Up and That's All (featuring Vashti Bunyan) between 1966 and 1968 for Immediate. Most of these recordings were pop\psychedelic\folk in the Peter and Gordon/Chad and Jeremy mold, with light orchestral pop/rock arrangements, that sometimes employed a touch of the baroque!!.

Their UK Top 40 success was a cover of the Mick Jagger and Keith Richards composition "Sittin' on a Fence" (1966).[ The Stones released it a year later!!.

In 1972, Skinner joined Uncle Dog, a group including vocalist, Carol Grimes. He penned most of the tracks on their album, Old Hat. He was also a member of Clancy. In 1977/8, Skinner toured as the keyboard player with Roxy Music. He also contributed to albums by Phil Manzanera and Bryan Ferry!!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original 1st press HEAVY and thicker type of vinyl only found on 1st pressings later pressings were much more flimsier and less robust!! Also these have deeper grooves! From my experiance these originals produce the best audio quality and can not be surpassed!!!!

On visual inspection this vinyl in my opinion has not been overplayed at all, retaining its original super gloss from new and looks superb I can barely see a blemish, certainly (no) needle scratches that would cause any loud clicks or pops!!! Only in strong light could possibly any  light whyspy surface marks\scuffs possibly be seen (mainly sleeve removal only) which have very little if (no) effect on the awesome audio that I heard at all!!!!.

The Audio Quality

 I have played this vinyl track for track prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system! This audio is truly stunning\awesome cristal clear and vibrant!!! with (no) signs of grooveware or that this has been overplayed at all!!! There are (no) loud clicks or pops during the play and no surface noise on my system indeed quite unbeleivable for a vinyl that is 42 years old!!, certainly (no) skips or jumps! In fact this plays very near perfect on my system!!! Even between tracks and surface noise is absolutely minimal! A very very playable and enjoyable vinyl. TOP! TOP! AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES!!!I would grade the audio at least excellent plus on my system!!!!!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion as usual when describing the audio quality of this vinyl! Although I never heard any problems at all! ,, Please allow for the odd light static\ tick (not) consistant through out the audio perhapes may be heard in the odd quiet place only!! Please remember that this is an original 42 year old vinyl that would have originaly been played on a 42 year old system!!!!!  

The Labels

These are the original White IMMEDIATE labels (only 1st press) in superbe condition for 42 years old! ''Sold In The UK.....'' text across the labels (only 1st UK press!,, ''Made in England'' (only UK press) Minimal spidering can be seen angled to the light in fact on side 1. it is hard to see any! There is little if (no) spindle are the hole is perfectly round!

The cover

This is the original 1st issue Unlaminated cover printed by Upton printers England. There are no splits or tares and amaizingly no real creases at all!! The nature of the way these flimsy covers were produced make these very hard to find in good condition and there is just light general rubbing\storage ware\marks with age only with age! The cover is nice and straight! All text and print can be read at the spine!
