Jim Jones & The Chaunteys: Soul Clap (Sunglow 113/US 60`s) Released on this small Texas lable which is better known for Tex/Mex releases, this is a really hard to describe album.  Very primitive played and  recorded songs with lotsa organ, often on the soul side (but without beeing a "real" soul singer), sometimes more in a garage rock style, maybe a little bit like Mitch Ryder& The Detroit Wheels, but without their power and fire. But: Mitch Ryder never got such a smart (and slimey) smile on his face like this guy on the sleeve...and i think he also never wore such an ugly mustard-coloured jacket like this! Heavy pressing in VG+, slight surface marks, the cover is VG(-), edge and corner wear, rw, rubbing and two small black ink stains on front
