EX/NM Used Audiophile Vinyl Test Record
Record Label: Mobile Fidelity MFSL 1-019 (Test Record)
Extremely rare MFSL Test Pressing. This one has blank generic JVC Victor Co, of Japan Sample Record label. Dead wax matrix info is: MFSL 1-019 A-3 AND B-3. Both sides are signed "SR" (Stan Ricker). Sleeve is white generic with title written in pen and sample record sticker on front.
These highly collectible test pressings are from the first stamper and sometimes less than 20 exist. Test pressings reflect the closest you can get to the lacquers and hence have a special collectible value.
This Original Master Recording was made using the half-speed production process. The pressing was sourced from the original stereo master tapes. The disc was specially plated and pressed on high definition Super Vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. These are considered by audiophiles to be among the finest recordings ever produced and very limited in quantity.
Plain white generic sleeve has some wear. Corners are dull. No splits in the jacket. Made of durable, heavy-duty cardboard. Vinyl looks new, shiny and plays beautifully.

Review: With a restrained yet potent funk band and a few cameos from luminaries in the jazz world, Al Jarreau gets plenty of opportunities to wrap his rubbery, ever-changing timbre around an agreeable collection of tunes, the majority of which he wrote or co-wrote. Of the cover tunes, Jarreau completely transforms Kenny Loggins' "Wait a Little While," the Beatles' "She's Leaving Home" and Otis Redding's "Dock of the Bay" into personal vehicles for vocal acrobatics, and his own "Fly" revives his uncanny ability to skitter and sail along with a Brazilian-based rhythm track. Freddie Hubbard puts in a soulful guest appearance on flugelhorn on Dave Frishberg's "I'm Home" and applies a more outgoing obligato to "Fly"; Lee Ritenour and Paulinho Da Costa also make appearances on the record. While Jarreau could still be technically classified as a jazz singer at this point, he is really inhabiting a zone of his own.
