DESCRIPTION

Tesla - “The Great Radio Controversy” Geffen Records GHS 24224 (Stereo) from 1989. Hard to find U.S. First Pressing Columbia House Record Club Edition Heavy Metal / Hard Rock album from Tesla featuring Jeff Keith, Frank Hannon, Tommy Skeoch, Brian Wheat and Troy Luccketta. In the Original Cover with No Cutouts or promo markings and, unlike most versions of this LP, NO Barcode though it does include a tiny “Manufactured by Columbia House Under License” notice on the back. Includes the Original Picture, Credits and Notes Inner Sleeve. This is a First Pressing as indicated by Matrix / Runout Vinyl markings which read:

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear, light creasing of the edges and corners and corner softening/wear. Very solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, cutouts, etc. and would rate VG. Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition. If you look closely you can spot some light scuffs and hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something that can be felt with a fingernail. VG+ visually and mostly plays VG+ and mostly better but with some spots of groove noise - mostly beween songs - and a few random soft tics. There is a quick little skip right at the start of the singing on side 1, song 1. I can’t really see anything that would cause this so it may just need a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The Labels are Near Mint. The inner sleeve has some ring impression and wrinkling but is still at least VG+.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
