Description

A great example of this rare item on the green CHRYSALIS label. This I believe is a first pressing with white 'i' of Island distributors. Single flipback sleeve is in good condition, spine not readable though with the odd crease here and there. I would rate sleeve at an overall VG. The disc, visually is very good indeed, beautiful sheen to the vinyl, absolute minimal marking or scratches visible. Stamper/matrix numbers are; A-1U/B-1U 'Porky' scratched in the run out groove. Labels are flawless, no writing, a few spider marks. The LP plays excellently throughout, with small amount of discernable noise & some pops/clicks on side 2/track 4 as above description . There are no skips, jumps etc. Overall rating of disc is EX.   The disc has been play graded using the ARISTON Q DECK TRANSCRIPTION turntable, not the world's finest deck, nevertheless a quality machine.
A fine album overall, the sound quality is superb from the very heavy vinyl.

Grading Guidelines:

I will always try to accurately grade records, in many instances I will place a rating in between grades, ie EX+, EX-, VG+ etc, if I consider it to better describe the condition. I don't deliberately overrate records, or go stupid and fill a page with stunning!, awesome!, impossible to find in this condition etc, etc. This, I find extremely tiresome, to be honest & should  be treated with the contempt it deserves.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. In my opinion, a record that has only been played a couple of times even, cannot truly be described as MINT. In these cases I will grade as MINT-.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
