   This record comes in a makeshift cardboard sleeve & mailing package adorned with a whimsical drawing of a television. It's possible that the band or the record company drew this. The handwriting style is similar to the writing on the Ork Records press insert that I have seen. The package is nestled inside a plastic sleeve. The artist has put some thought into the drawing, using a ruler to draw the perfect square. This is another reason why I think the drawing counts as the original artwork-and possibly one-of-a-kind.

   Original US 45 in on the red Ork label. Nice looking grooves. Stored long term in a protective plastic sleeve. "Little Johnny Jewel," a song I adore, was not released on any of the classic Television LPs. Written by Tom Verlaine & recorded in the summer of 1975. Also in Television were Richard Lloyd, Fred Smith & Billy Ficca. I am told that J.D. Daugherty of the Patti Smith Group recorded this song in mono on a 4-track cassette recorder. (Matrix #: "81975-A/B").




DISC - VG+


  The original owner took reasonably good care of this record & stored it well. Except for two half-inch "shiver scrapes" about two-thirds into side A, the platter surface is free of scratches, scuffs, streaks, stains, skips, needle wear, pits, warping or residue on the disc or dead wax. The scrapes render merely a small amount of background noise which I believe the listener will find to be easily tolerable. (What I call a "shiver scrape" is a series of marks caused by the needle apparently bouncing across a small area of the disc surface.) Nice-looking surface sheen. Record has been stored upright in a climate-controlled environment.
 

 LABEL - NEAR MINT

 Side A has no stains, cuts, tears, tape, ink spills, writing, price tags, or color fading. No ring wear or scuffing. Shallow half-inch bubble on side A label. Side B has three eighth-inch flakes that have worn away from the outside edge of the label. These are minor blemishes on a label that looks quite nice. The hole has a nice sharp cut. Deep rich red color.
