ORIGINAL PRESSING, STILL SEALED 1986

OK, so this is a funny one, The promo version of this came on Green vinyl. Looking at sales history and pictures of other copies of this promo LP we found that most of the promos have a gold promo stamp over the barcode and some do not. The punch hole in the barcode would usually indicate this copy we have for sale is a promo, but I don't see any other versions of this sold with a punch hole like this one. So is it a promo, or a cut out? Cut out meaning that they made too many versus what sold and sold a chunk off for cheap to cut out houses (distributors like Scorpio that just sold cut outs they bought from labels, labels that went out of business, banks that foreclosed on labels and distributors and basically anywhere they could buy for 50 cents and sell for a 1.00.) Labels that wanted to keep these titles in print but do a write off for the extra copies they had would do this, marking the copies so they could not be returned
the reason these "cut outs" are notched or punched is that so record stores cannot return these copies to distributors or the label and get full credit for them. if they didn't , you could buy 50 Lps at 1.00 each from Scorpio and return them to the place they usually buy them from for $4 apiece, so they mark them in some way so if anyone returns them they can reject them on this basis.
so promo green vinyl inside this sealed LP or not? probably not? but maybe, I'd give it a 20-30% chance, but then I don't see any other copies of this for sale that have a notch, that indicates this titles was ever "cut out" by the label,...so, no way of knowing. ya gotta open it to find out
