TED HEROLD
SIDE A: SALVAJE TWIST
(1:0 [Wild One])
SIDE B: CLARO DE LUNA
(Moonlight)
WOW!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original MONO Polydor “scroll” Records very first press released in Chile late 1960 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. Productos Eléctricos, licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Germany, catalog number 66 941, with machine etched matrix numbers 66941-A LT R1 in Side A and 66941-B LT R1 in Side B, with traditional orange/black Polydor “scroll” Records labels!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Ted Herold and early German rock’n’roll!!! WOW!!!
As you must know, “Moonlight” was originally released as single early 1960 and it reached the number 1 in Germany. Thanks to Philips Records we could see this single released here in Chile the same year, but if you know this single maybe you will have already noticed the rarity this single is. “Moonlight” is the Side A in original German issue but here in Chile they released the single with inverted sides!!! “Moonlight” in Chile was the Side B!!! As you can see, the song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and publishers of each song, with the price, E°1,38, printed in Side A and a new price, “1,50”, stamped in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that credits for songwriters aren’t the same of the original German issue, for “1:0 (Wild One)” the credits are “Low-Mann- Appell-Bradtke” but in Chile they are “LOWE-MANN” only with “Low” misspelled “LOWE”. And for “Moonlight” the credits in the original German issue are for “Sharfenberger-Busch” but in Chile for “BUSCH” only. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE single of Ted Herold, maybe only released here in Chile with “Moonlight” as Side B and almost never seen here in eBay!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! And what a great condition!!!
This single comes with the original generic Polydor paper sleeve which’s in VG or VG+ condition, still complete and without seam splits, which’s really a miracle for this kind of so fragile cover, but with moderate wear, creases and some rips, more evident in corners and top loader edge, with a little number, “12”, written in one of the sides. The record is in nice EX- or even EX condition both sides, it’s still glossy and clean, with soft scuffs and hairlines, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in EX+ or NM- condition in both sides, with only minimal wear, more evident in the spindle hole. The sound is in strong EX+ or even NM- condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with only some light occasional crackles barely audible, and in EX- or EX condition the Side B, with very soft constant crackles and some occasional light pops here and there, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record with Spanish-written song titles, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a very nice look and a great sound quality after about 63 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean press!!! And keep in mind this MEGARARE single was released in Chile with INVERTED SIDES, with “Moonlight” as Side B!!! WOW!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
