TEAC ‘HIGH-END’ STEREO REEL TO REEL TAPE RECORDER
A-3340S, Professionally Serviced, 6-Month Warranty!
This superb piece of kit is the TEAC A-3340S 4 Channel, 4 Track, Simul-Sync, Stereo Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder.
PLEASE don’t confuse this with a ‘run of the mill’ domestic machine – it is a professional machine upon which you will be able to make STUDIO QUALITY RECORDINGS and/or carry out professional mastering.
Having said that, if you merely want to make ‘top notch’ analogue recordings and play through your home stereo system then this will also serve the purpose admirably.
Mechanically and technically it is in MINT CONDITION having just been serviced by one of the UK’s leading ‘reel to reel’ specialists, Geoff Kremmer of Servicesound (see www.servicesound.com). When returning the machine to me, Geoff said that the heads showed no real signs of wear and that the machine was in ‘exemplary condition’. He applied his PROFESSIONAL 6-MONTH WARRANTY, which IS transferable to the winning bidder. YOU CAN THEREFORE BID ON THIS WONDERFUL PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WITH ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE.
Cosmetically, this machine is fine. The silver facia panel and the control panel are in very good order indeed. The wooden side panels do show some signs of wear (but these are of course inconspicuous when the machine is in use) and I had intended to replace these, prior to sale so as to advertise a ‘mint machine’, but sadly time has prevented me from doing so. (If you wanted a ‘mint’ machine, new side panels can easily and cheaply be made with wood available from any DIY store). I must reiterate however that mechanically, this superb piece of kit IS in outstanding condition!
As you will see from the final photograph below (which shows some of the machines I have in daily use) I am a serious collector of high quality reel-to-reel machines and I can tell you that this machine is ‘up there’ with the very best reel-to-reel machines that were built.
INCLUDED IN THE SALE IS A BLANK SPOOL OF GOOD QUALITY, MAXELL, MAGNETIC RECORDING TAPE plus A MATCHING TAKE-UP SPOOL. ALSO INCLUDED ARE THE (BRAND NEW) NAB ADAPTERS AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS and THE MAINS LEAD.
The machine has full logic controls for Play, Record, Rewind, Fast Forward and Pause and each of the 4 channels has separate ‘Input’ AND ‘Output’ controls. The ‘play’ options are ‘2-Channel’ or ‘4-Channel’ and there are additional switches for ‘EQ’ and ‘BIAS’
Unfortunately, I do not have a ‘user manual’ for this tape recorder, but these ARE readily available on the internet.
The winning bidder is very welcome to collect the machine from my home if that is convenient and delivery may be possible within certain areas as I am often out and about on business. Alternatively, the Tape Recorder will be very securely packed and sent by reliable courier with adequate insurance.
