This rare 1968 release by Warner is truly something else again in its sounding.
A true progression of musical styles, the title SONG CYCLE simply does not do it justice, as there is everything you can possibly imagine here, from ragtime to pop, show tunes to bluegrass -- and then some. In the mix, every kind of instrument is called upon, too, including, yep, a balalaika and an accordion.
