Rare Quadraphonic TAS listed Symphony  No. 3 Saint-Saens Fremaux

soloist Pierre Fournier

Professionally cleaned, treated with LAST Record Preserver and FULLY Test played.

Here is a sound sample of this exact record on offer,  sample section is from the 'business end' of 4th movement, where the BABE theme is only too short .

Sound sample starts automatically as you open the page , so turn up the volume and listen while you have a read....... It's TRUE that rousing theme music that builds repetitively through out the original BABE Movie (The pig movie) is a theme from the third movement of this symphony, when I heard it I got out the video and went to the end credits just to confirm they gave credit where credit was due.  I know why this is TAS, Don't be scared of it if you don't like organ music, this is an Organ SYMPHONY, not concerto, so it is not the solo instrument playing OVER the orchestra, more like one of the 'other' orchestral instruments, and you combine the orchestra with the rousing bass possible with a cathedral pipe organ, make sure it is well recorded and mixed and whammo! TAS list entry (THE ABSOLUTE SOUND list of 'worthy recordings' you must have or at least listen to. I don't know if the Australian pressing makes it less wanted, but if you don't have the apparantly rare UK version, well this will just have to do EH??

EMI QUADRAPHONIC, Version, the normal pressing is STEREO.  The only thing is it is PRESSED in Austrtalia. Only one I've ever seen in Australia in the thousands of records I have inspected. and without having to read my more elaborate report,

(Visually, STUNNINGLY clean, very quiet no sign of wear damage in replay,)    LP test played after wet wash bath, treated with LAST.  'Last' record Preservative. (archive quality Vinyl preserver, said to minimise play related wear for upto 200 'plays')

This really does look like its only just out of the shop from new, no scuffs visible, unless you venture into strong sunlight, and no damage or yellowing to cover.

This is Saint Saens Symphony No. 3 played by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted bu Louis Fremaux, also Christopher Robinson on the Organ.

Record looked like it had never been taken out when I first inspected it, there is absolutely no visible damage, and whole record plays beautifully and cleanly.
LP Condition (see photo's) NM I am listening to it to test play as I write this listing.  Only a few very light NON sounding paperscuffs in sunlight only, and beautiful, like new gloss on the vinyl.

Rotational spindle marks only on side 2 label, indicating side two may never have been played until I tested it (That is the best side in my opinion).

Record will be mailed outside sleeve to minimise seam splits, but my packing negates that problem anyway. Original all plastic australian sleeve is NM, but MFSL ANTI scratch/static sleeve included .

WAX CODES

SIDE B   OAX 4560 2G

LP COVER

(see photo's) rated 'NEAR Mint MINUS'.

Cover shows TOP EDGE ring wear, all is visible in photo's, take my word for it, for over 35 yrs old it is remarkably well preserved. (1973 on label)

Won't spend too much time (?) waffling  so any specific questions please email me.

RULES FOR BIDDING

DOES ANYBODY READ THIS?? I THINK NOT BASED ON RECENT BIDDING ACTIVITY ON MY ITEMS!! PLEASE READ...

If you have hidden feedback, or

less than 98% positive, or

less than 50 recent visible positives, (that's NEW EBAY registrations with little activity yet, that have proven your good buying habits)  THEN -

I would appreciate email contact first to establish your credentials.  Credentials mean that I need to know you will be paying with VERIFIED PAYPAL account, and I of course will only be mailing to that verified address. DON'T EXPECT TO GET MY PERMISSION IN THE LAST 2 HOURS OF BIDDING, DO IT BEFOREHAND. (Buyers who have had trouble free transactions with me already qualify of course, regardless of the feedback status)

Winning bids unpaid after 7 days will be reported as non paying bidder and item opened to second chance offer.

HAPPY BIDDING, QUESTIONS WELCOME

This listing in Australian dollars because I don't live in US or UK, and if you don't, WHAT A WASTE OF DOUBLE CONVERSIONS THAT WOULD BE!!! Also as the exchange rate is more like R.S. not U.S against our vibrant economy in sunny Australia

The keen starting price offers a great opportunity to own this great recording at a reasonable starting price.
