This is the 1983ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG LIMITED EDITION RELEASE of the 1983 LP titled 'Speaking In Tongues from Talking Heads. It is a Sire Records release, catalog number 1-23771. This limited edition pressing was limited to 50,000 copies.

This Rauschenberg edition LP is pressed on clear vinyl and comes complete with all three original primary color art pinwheels, packaged inside its original clear yellow plastic case. The lady who sold me this Rauschenberg album stated that she was its original owner and had unsealed it from its original shrinkwrap but had never opened the plastic case, and that she had never removed the two inner art pinwheels and the LP from the case. The plastic seal at the hub of the case does not open, so this appears to bear out her account of her ownership of this LP. One of the art pinwheels is attached at the hub externally to the plastic case, the other two are packaged inside the case with the clear vinyl LP. Without wanting to break the plastic seal on the inner hub to be ale to open the case and examine the LP I will take the previous owner's word that the record and the two inner art pinwheels are in 100% pristine untouched condition. The art pinwheel that is attached externally to the plastic case has some light surface marks. The clear yellow plastic outer case is completely intact without any cracks except for a small piece that has been cracked off of the extreme outer edge of the case at one of its corners, it does have a few light surface marks and a little contact wear.
This RARE and interesting limited edition is a bit hard to find with all three art pinwheels present and included and without the outer plastic case cracking away from age - it would make a choice addition to any Talking Heads or 1980s New Wave record collection!
