TALKING HEADS / "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" Original 1983 US Pressing (Columbia House Club Edition) Sire 9 W1-23883
This is the RARE original 1983 Record Club edition. (See photos) This critically acclaimed new wave classic features hit singles "Burning Down The House" and "This Must Be The Place". Recorded by band leader David Byrne, Chris Frantz (formerly Tom Tom Club), Jerry Harrison (formerly The Modern Lovers) and Tina Weymouth (formerly Tom Tom Club) shortly following their split with producer Brian Eno, "Speaking In Tongues" is arguably Talking Heads most artistic release. The jacket design, crafted by Byrne, was also unique.
Superb sound quality on this brilliantly recorded album, with exceptionally wide dynamic range and especially solid low end sound reproduction. NM wax plays just a wee bit shy of "like new", with only traces of surface noise audible between some tracks ... but not during songs. The wax looks "like new", with super high gloss. A very few, very light superficial paper scuffs / scratches are visible under bright light but have no impact on sound quality.
EX jacket is bright and clean, flawed only by minor rub wear on the bottom seam and at corners. Solid seams and spine. No splits.
Includes original custom inner paper sleeve, with lyrics and credits, in NM condition.
Wax will be delivered housed in a professional poly inner sleeve to avoid any paper scuffs in transit, together with but separate from the original paper inner sleeve.

Profile & Policies:
I have been a record collector for more than 55 years now, with thousands of LPs and 45s in my collection. Now retired, I am looking to downsize my footprint and so am selling some of my collection, the proceeds going to the purchase a few special releases going forward.
I carefully grade records using Goldmine Magazine Record Collector guidelines. To ensure accurate wax grade citings, I choose my grades based on my listen of the very LP listed, not solely a visual exam.
All records are cleaned with my Spin-Clean Record Washer System. Records are securely packaged in professional cardboard record mailers, with the wax positioned outside the jacket to avoid seam split in transit. The wax + jacket combo is sealed in a plastic sheet to avoid water damage in transit. Mailing is via USPS Media Mail.
International customers are welcome providing they abide by eBay Global Shipping Program guidelines.
