PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
OFF-THE-CHARTS-RARE FULLY SIGNED original Joe Gastwirt mastered Jacksonville first pressing from July, 1978 on Sire with glossy black printed inner sleeve!!! This LP was included in a jaw-dropping collection I purchased from the former manager of Sounds Good Records & Tapes (R.I.P.) here in Chicago's Boystown neighborhood when it was a punk haven back in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Each Talking Heads member signed next to or inside their image on the cover when the band visited the store to promote the LP when it was released. Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz both signed in pen but must have thought it was too light and went over their signatures in marker. Tina also took advantage of the checkerboard pattern to write TINE with one letter in each box at the top. Ditto David Byrne across his chest. Jerry Harrison signed his name in pen, didn't care if it WAS too light and just left it (or so I like to believe). Directly dedicated to Sounds Good at the top, the Heads personally thanked them at the bottom as well!!! LP is a gorgeous VG++/NM- and cover is VG+ with 2 tiny nicks on the spine. You will not be disappointed. An incredible early NY art-punk artifact from the original CBGB era. The undisputed crown jewel in my Talking Heads collection so don't sleep. This is a one-of-a-kind item.
