V.A. "Tainai Label Omnibus" Cassette Tape
(??????(Tainai Label)/Three Mantras, 1987, TM-003)
Mega-rare original Japanese compilation tape featuring the 10 different gothic/darkwave/new wave/avant/noise bands. The bands included are: Neurotic Doll, Taiji, Adenoid, Zarathustra, Merzbow(!!!), Temple ob S?D?A, No Lip, Doroebisu, Tupai, and Retro. Released by Three Mantras, which was the sub-label(tape release only) of Tainai Label. Tainai was the label ran by the Taiji members and released the Taiji flexi's, Himegozen flexi, Taiji tapes, Celluloid/Kiku split tape etc. I bought this comp tape from the used/rare section of a record shop that used to be located in Osaka back in the early '90s. I don't know how many of these were ever made but probably no more than a few hundred copies. The tape contains the well-known bands as well as a few obscure ones. My favorites from this compilation are Adenoid, Neurotic Doll, No Lip and Zarathustra. Adenoid(feat. Mother-Goose members!) has an excellent 7" out. That 7" is really, really good! Neurotic Doll is a long-running goth/darkwave band that's still active. Doroebisu is supposed to be the side project band by the Adenoid members and appeared on another awesome Japanese goth/wave comp LP called "All The Children Are Insane" with Antena, Chu-Doku(pre-punk era), Adenoid, Mother-Goose, Gregor Samsa etc. ........... The cassette is in good condition with many visible light scratches on the surface but plays perfectly. I remember one of the paper labels came off a while ago, so i had to re-glue it. The fold-out sleeve has a few very minor wear that's not so noticeable. Overall in a great shape for a tape that's nearly 25 years old. The sleeve is hand numbered(this copy is #194...? kinda hard to read..) This is a true gem for the collectors. You probably will never see this tape for sale again, at least outside of Japan....! Highly recommended for fans of the Wechselbalg, Trans, Conneca, Telegraph Records stuff. Good luck bidding and please check out my other auctions.
