T REX - THE SLIDER / EMI Test Pressing 5249 / 1972 / STEREO
Up for sale TOP RARE Argentine test pressing of The Slider lp on EMI.
Flimsy laminated on front jacket is VG++, it shows some moderate wear, has no splits, date and shelving code number handwritten on back on dead space and readable spine, looks fine.
Disc is VG, surface keeps its gloss and shows hairlines & scuffs that are mostly cosmetic, though there are a couple of tiny marks on B1 (Telegram Sam) that play through fine with the turntable's arm adjusted at normal or light weight and which might eventually skip if weight is set heavier or if you play it with a pretty worn spindle. There's also a slightly feelable small thin scratch on B6 (Main Man) that causes some lite pops for a few revolutions. Due to its nature and the fact that it has remained improperly stored all through these years (no warps) I have played the record thoroughly and I can confirm that sound is good and it plays really fine overall except for the aforementioned flaws.
Labels look somewhat yellowish from time. A side shows the handwritten name of the artist plus a sticker, another sticker on B side as well as date November 1972.
A true rarity that any collector or completist should not miss indeed!!
