Description
Offered here is the rare, very first pressing of the legendary album MEET THE BEATLES. There is no publishing print on either side of the labels. It is reported that only the first 200 thousand were pressed like this. Those were also the first to be bought by the young fans who could not wait to get home and play it. As a result of being subject to the worst of Beatlemania, most of these variations have not survived. The ones that usually show up are trashed beyond belief! However this one is one of the nicer ones you will ever see.
The labels (the important part) are a beautiful Near Mint. There are only a couple of light spindle marks that can only be viewed under intense light, and NO wear anywhere!!
The vinyl still retains some of its “just pressed” look. There are a few light marks on both sides, but nothing serious. The vinyl grades at VG+. Most copies of this album are not even near VG. However there is a small manufacture’s “warp” on side one that causes the disk to turn unevenly. It is not noticeable unless you spin it on a turntable.
The cover is absolutely gorgeous. It is the correct # 3 pressing. There are no splits, writing, tears etc. The front cover is perfect. There is no wear anywhere on the front cover. All printing is completely there. The back is bright white and free of wear. There is a small crease on the bottom right corner that does not affect the front at all (see pic). There is no mention of George Martin on the back. How often do you see covers this nice?
